Robert Kiyosaki Questions US Financial Future Amid Crash Predictions

    Key Takeaways

    • Kiyosaki’s latest post asks a question rather than making a new forecast.
    • His broader scenario extends from a market crash to possible bank runs.
    • Kiyosaki predicts a financial crisis could drive bitcoin and gold prices much higher.

A Weather Question Reopens Kiyosaki’s Financial Outlook

Robert Kiyosaki’s latest question about America’s financial future brings his wider predictions back into focus for investors. In a Sept. 26 post about bad weather, the Rich Dad Poor Dad author asked followers whether the bad weather battering America is a coincidence or a warning from a “higher-power” about the country’s financial future. He presented the idea as a question, rather than evidence of an economic event or a new forecast.

His concern is rooted in a much broader scenario. On Sept. 15, Kiyosaki claimed that a historic stock and bond market crash had begun, starting in Europe and Japan. He attributed the pressure to debt, speculation around artificial intelligence, war in Iran, and the retirement of the baby boom generation. Those claims reflect his assessment of market conditions, not a confirmed global collapse.

Kiyosaki’s predictions also extend beyond falling asset prices. In April, he described a possible 2026-27 crash that could turn into a depression. In his Sept. 15 warning, he also predicted that fear could escalate into panic and bank runs, followed by renewed money printing. These are proposed stages of a financial breakdown; the bad-weather post establishes none of them.

Severe weather was affecting several parts of the United States when Kiyosaki posted. Hurricane Nolo threatened Hawaii with heavy rain, strong winds, and dangerous surf, while a nor’easter was forecast to bring coastal flooding, high surf, and hazardous rip currents to parts of New Jersey and Delaware.

Debt and Money Printing Form the Macro Scenario

Government borrowing is central to Kiyosaki’s outlook, though rising debt alone does not establish that a banking crisis will follow. The International Monetary Fund reported in its April Fiscal Monitor that global public debt reached just under 94% of gross domestic product in 2025. It projected a rise to 100% by 2029 and cited growing interest costs and spending pressures. That projection describes fiscal strain, rather than the bank runs Kiyosaki anticipates.

The U.S. Treasury’s Aug. 3 borrowing estimate projected $739 billion in privately held net marketable borrowing for the July-September quarter. Treasury borrowing means issuing debt to raise funds. Kiyosaki’s prediction that policymakers will eventually create more money is a separate claim about a potential response to severe financial stress; the borrowing estimate does not confirm it.

He expects that response to weaken the purchasing power of cash, a concern behind his preference for bitcoin, gold, and silver. Inflation reduces what a fixed amount of money can buy when prices rise. The path Kiyosaki envisages, from market losses to emergency policy and then to higher asset prices, depends on several events occurring in sequence. It is more specific than a general concern about debt or inflation.

His Asset Targets Depend on a Crisis

Kiyosaki has attached striking numbers to the final stage of that scenario. In March, he predicted bitcoin could reach $750,000 and ethereum $95,000 one year after a global financial crash. In the same scenario, he projected gold at $35,000 an ounce and silver at $200. The timing is conditional: he measured the year from a hypothetical crash, not from the date he made the predictions.

Those targets illustrate why Kiyosaki can foresee both severe near-term losses and substantial later gains in assets he favors. He expects a crisis to damage conventional markets first, then prompt a policy response that increases demand for alternatives to cash. His forecasts do not mean bitcoin, ethereum, gold, and silver would rise during every stage of a downturn.

Kiyosaki has made earlier crash calls that did not occur on his stated schedule, including predictions for 2016 and February 2025. His Sept. 26 question keeps attention on his outlook for America’s finances, but the test of his detailed predictions remains the sequence he has described: a deepening market crisis, pressure on banks, a monetary response, and the asset prices he expects afterward.
